Installation

Web Clipper has two components: a macOS bridge app and a browser extension. You can install them in either order, but we recommend starting with the bridge app.

1. Install the bridge app

  1. Download the installer from avrhut.com/web-clipper-to-apple-notes.
  2. Open the downloaded .pkg file.
  3. Follow the guided installation steps.

This installs the bridge application and the files that allow browser extensions to communicate with it.

2. Add the browser extension

  1. Search for "Web Clipper for Apple Notes" in the Chrome Web Store or Firefox Add-ons, or follow the link on the download page.
  2. Install the extension. It needs permission to read page content (so it can capture what you clip) and native messaging permission (so it can send data to the bridge app).

3. Authorize Apple Notes access

The first time you use the extension, macOS will show a prompt asking "AVRHutBitesBridge" wants access to documents and data in "Notes". Click Allow. This is a one-time authorization that lets the bridge app save to Apple Notes.
